Share Links with superpowers! 🚀 Ever wished you could share a curated collection of photos and videos, spanning multiple albums, with friends and family? Now you can! The new share links feature lets you combine albums, set expiration dates, and even include a handy list of people featured in the shared content. This makes finding specific memories a breeze for everyone.

Here's the breakdown of what our new share links can do:

• Combine Albums: Share links now support multiple albums at once, so you can share a collection of photos and videos from various events and trips.

• Set Expiration Dates: Control how long your shared links remain active, ensuring your privacy and giving you better control over your shared content.

  

• People List for Easy Filtering: Easily find specific people in your shared photos and videos with the new people list. No more endless scrolling!

For using shared links you need to setup two things.

• IMMICH_SHARE_LINK_KEY: A new API key to be created and added to your ENV for fetching images as a public user.

• POWER_TOOLS_ENDPOINT_URL : Now Immich Power Tools can work like proxy for your immich instance when using shared links. So inorder to show the domain of the shared links you need to set this env. This should point to the public hostname of your power tools.

• JWT_SECRET : Also a JWT Secret to encode the filters applied to shared links and also validate the expiry. If you already have it for old authentication method, it can be reused.

📊 New Analytics Feature

This release got two new analytics for your immich library, the one being overall stats of asset count based on it type and the second one is the heatmap of your assets, how often you click pictures and videos. We’re looking to bring more such analytics to get to you the library better.

Also when you use the login, you can switch between accounts by simply logining into different account just like how you would do in Immich.

1. Use immich’s Search Places API - https://immich.app/docs/api/search-places to search and tags item.

2. Using Lat and Longitude that you can get from google maps and use it here for high precision.

Today I tried to solve it with this implementation

🔎 Filtering

In this release I brought in two filters that will greatly help you in finding the right ones to tag.

Max Asset Count:

Imagine you’re in the game of hiding off unwanted or random people’s face but you don’t know how to find it quickly, then its a nightmare mainly when you’ve case like me of 10,000 images.

To solve this I brought in Max Asset Count where you can filter faces that are only in 5-10 photos and you know they are mostly not so close people whom you can ignore and hide.

Show Only Nameless:

Every got annoyed by seeing already tagged people again and again? This is exactly why this new filter is. When you tag someone take them off your list and worry only about the people who aren’t and get your work done faster.

For me it worked more like a checklist 🚀

This was done with the pure intention of letting users juggle between people with more number of occurrence and the ones who comes once in a blue moon.

Based on updated time

Lost a record while you’re on an tagging spree? This comes handy, if you want to find someone you recently edited or whom you rarely edited.

Here is a short note on how to use it.

You can run the project using docker-compose.yml file.

Method 1 - Docker Compose

Add the following into your docker compose as a new service along side other immich services. Make sure you've power-tools in same network as immich.

We're excited to introduce a new asset organizing tool in Immich Power Tools: Potential Albums!

1. Automatically identify and suggest new albums based on unorganized photos grouped by date.

2. If a set of photos exceeds a certain threshold (yet to be finalized) and isn’t part of an existing album, the tool will suggest creating a new album.

This helps in organizing your timeline, making it easier to look back on your trips, conferences, or special moments as a whole.
Why This Feature?

During a recent import of photos from Google Photos, it became apparent that many photos from various events were not properly organized into albums. These photos were scattered across the timeline, making it difficult to reflect on specific events. To solve this, Potential Albums aims to help you easily identify and organize these photos into albums.
